THE STORY BEHIND OUR NAME
On a cold day in 2010 - Justin and I named our business in this room... I was sitting on the chair right behind "freshman college me"...cute I know...
We had been brainstorming for weeks and knew we wanted to name our business something with meaning. We started thinking about a brand and a mission that we wanted people to see in our work, our name, and our lives. It all needed to flow. I have to give him credit... Justin OFFICIALLY chose the name "Ambient Studios" - he's pretty awesome at creative brainstorming. So here it goes, the meaning behind our name!
"Ambient Studios" comes from our desire to show people that you don't have to have the SPOTLIGHT to shine. The small things are what makes this world a better place. The little laughs, thank you's, compliments...those are what we believe change the world. Not a celebrity, not a president, but the underdogs, the "average," the ones who fly under the radar. We wanted all of our seniors and clients to know that the most important thing anyone can ever do is to be the kindest they can be, the happiest they can be, the most forgiving that they can be - in their current situation. It's all about working with what you have, with your surroundings! That idea sparked a larger journey which gave us the inspiration for our HASHTAG!
We wanted it to become something our seniors could use and associate with. It means exactly what is says....to BE AMBIENT. To be authentic and real and to blend in without fitting in. For people to notice without begging for it. It's about so much more than our photography company, it's about living!
So in honor of living AMBIENT, enjoy some old photos of us through the beginning stages of our journey with creating, messing up, learning, and growing!
